Explore your relationship with food and body in a supportive, compassionate environment.

I am a fat-positive dietitian with a passion for working alongside people to explore their relationship with food and their body. My work creates opportunities for people to unpack and reframe everything they’ve heard about bodies, food, and health.

The details

  • We start with an initial assessment - the part where we get to know each other, I learn more about your history and what you’re looking for from our work together. If it feels like a good fit, we can then start to formulate a plan based on collaborative goals and treatment options. This can take around 2-3 sessions.

Ongoing appointments from there are a process of working together towards your goals. I like to be guided by what you bring to focus on or discuss each session, as well as offering guidance, perspective and recommendations as needed. I tend to think of this broadly as a combination of small and big-picture work.

Small-picture work can include learning more about nutrition, exploring different strategies for behaviour change around food, and debriefing session to session on how this went and adjusting from there to move towards your goals.

Big-picture work can involve unpacking and challenging beliefs around food and body, reflecting on how past experiences have shaped these beliefs, and building your readiness to make the changes you’ve identified in line with your goals.

How much we focus on big or small-picture work will depend on your individual goals, needs and preferences at any given time. Sometimes we spend several sessions on one or the other, or move between these within sessions.

How often you have sessions depends on your personal circumstances and needs, and is discussed as part of the initial assessment. Most often we start with weekly - fortnightly appointments to establish treatment and build momentum. Adjustments are made for more or less frequent appointments as we go depending on your needs and our collaborative plan.

  • I work from the land of the Bidjigal people in Sydney. All of my consultations are online via secure video conferencing software or phone call - which means I can work with people anywhere in Australia.

Telehealth services require a steady internet connection and a private space to talk. Treat them like you would an in-person appointment - be in a comfortable space with as minimal distractions as possible.

  • Fees

All Dietetic Counselling sessions are 50 minutes with a fee of $190.

If you provide the details of a current Health Care Card, you’ll be eligible for a concession rate of $160 per session.

    Fees are reviewed annually.

    Medicare rebates

You can claim Medicare rebates under an Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDP) or Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP). A copy of your referral letter and complete plan must be provided before your appointment for rebates to be processed.

    Eating Disorder Plan (EDP)

A GP or Psychiatrist can determine if you’re eligible for an EDP, in which case you’ll be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate of $60.35 per session for up to 20 sessions within a 12 month period from when the plan was created.

    Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP)

A GP can determine if you’re eligible for a CDMP, in which case you’ll be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate of $60.35 per session for up to 5 individual sessions within a calendar year.

    Private Health

Rebates may be available through your private health fund, depending on your level of cover. You can contact your private health provider to enquire as to whether you are eligible for rebates for Dietetic Therapy. You can claim any individual session under a Medicare rebate or private health rebate, not both.

    National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

Constellations accepts clients under NDIS funding who are either self-managed or plan-managed.

  • You don’t need a referral to access Dietetic Counselling sessions. Referrals are only required alongside an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan or Chronic Disease Management Plan if you wish to claim Medicare rebates.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required. Notification can be made via email at hello@constellationsconsulting.com.au.

If you cancel or reschedule with 24-48 hours notice, a late notice fee of 50% of the session fee will apply. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 24 hours notice or don’t attend your appointment without prior notice, a cancellation fee of the full session fee will apply.

These fees are payable before further appointments can be made. Medicare or private health rebates cannot be claimed for cancellations.
